RECOVERY DOG TRAINING
Calm, Confident Dogs Start Here
Behavioral rehabilitation and obedience training for dogs in San Antonio & the Texas Hill Country since 2020.
Training Built For Your Dog
At Recovery Dog Training, we focus on the dog in front of us. Every training plan is thoughtfully tailored to fit the unique needs of you and your dog—never a one-size-fits-all approach. We are flexible with our methods but always prioritize your dog’s long-term well-being, supporting both physical comfort and emotional stability. We welcome dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages, whether you’re raising a new puppy, navigating new behaviors with an older dog, or simply looking to build a stronger, more enjoyable life together. Our goal is to provide expert guidance and support every step of the way.
Helping Dogs -And Owners- Thrive
We’re here for owners who feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. If the thought of walking your dog around the neighborhood feels stressful, having visitors over seems impossible, or adding another pet to your home feels out of reach, you’re not alone. These challenges are common for owners of reactive or aggressive dogs—but meaningful change is possible. Through our structured behavioral rehabilitation programs in San Antonio, we help dogs and their owners build new patterns, confidence, and stability. With hundreds of rehabilitation cases behind us, Recovery Dog Training is here to guide you toward a calmer, more manageable life with your dog.
Kindra L.
Owner and full time operator
Hi, I’m Kindra Lewis, founder of Recovery Dog Training.
I specialize in helping anxious, reactive, and under-socialized dogs grow into more confident, reliable companions through patient, individualized training. After working with hundreds of dogs, I’ve learned that real progress comes from taking the time to truly understand each dog—not rushing the process.
I am a mom of 8 - one wild toddler, three rescue dogs, 2 rescue cats, and 2 house rabbits. When I’m not training, you’ll find me spending time with my family and pack, soaking up the sun, or watching nature documentaries.
Our Programs
Private Training Lessons
Work one-on-one with a professional trainer to address your dog’s specific needs and your personal training goals. These customized sessions provide clear guidance, faster progress, and practical techniques you can confidently use at home.
Behavioral Rehabilitation
For dogs struggling with aggression, reactivity, fear, or severe behavioral issues. We create structured rehabilitation plans that rebuild trust, improve control, and help your dog develop calm, balanced behavior.
Puppy Training
Set your puppy up for lifelong success with proper structure, socialization, and foundational obedience. Early training prevents common behavior problems and builds confidence during the most important developmental stage.
Board & Train
Accelerate your dog’s progress with our immersive training program. Your dog lives and trains with a professional daily, building solid obedience and behavior habits before transitioning the training back to you.
“Carmellow” - King Charles Spaniel - training in 2022 - RIP, you were the the most loving boy, you are missed.
